Method Operating System
Design it. Deliver it. Scale it.
Methodware technology turns your proprietary knowledge and tradecraft into digital infrastructure that scales your team's capacity while enforcing quality standards. Machina OS is our operating system for building and operating modern methodware systems. Apply for early access now.
What is a methodology?
A methodology (or simply method) is how your firm solves a client's problem, the steps and the know-how and judgement behind them. A method is a unique, highly valuable, and special kind of knowledge: it is knowledge about how to deploy, apply, and adapt other knowledge effectively to solve a class of problems. Every client engagement has a methodology, and the best firms invest in developing, specialising, and protecting their methodologies.
Why your tools can't hold your method
Each holds a piece of it. None is methodware.
Tool
Ruled out: Diagram toolsWhy it falls shortA drawing of your method can't run it, check the work or hold a gate.
Tool
Ruled out: Workflow toolsWhy it falls shortThey move tasks through fixed steps, but can't hold the judgement that picks the next.
Tool
Ruled out: Project management toolsWhy it falls shortThey track dates and owners, never what a step must produce or how good it must be.
Tool
Ruled out: Knowledge management toolsWhy it falls shortThey store what you know as pages to search. Nothing runs from them.
Tool
Ruled out: SOPsWhy it falls shortThey write the steps down, then go stale in a folder while the work moves on.
Tool
Ruled out: DocumentsWhy it falls shortEach engagement copies one, and every copy drifts from the last.
Tool
Ruled out: Digital whiteboardsWhy it falls shortGood for working it out together. The board stays a picture when the workshop ends.
How it runs
Built to deliver, every engagement
Today your team carries your methodology in their heads and checks it by hand.
Machina OS puts the methodology itself to work. Your team delivers every engagement on it, and delivery speeds up.
After the call, Sim shows how your firm would run on Machina OS.
How you handle it
A physics engine for knowledge systems.
An engine gives the things in a world rules to keep. Unity does it for games. Machina OS does it for knowledge systems: your steps, gates and people are objects with a place, a shape and a weight, and they keep your rules when you move them. A step waits for what it needs. A gate holds the work until you pass it.
Design it.
Your method
methodDesign your methodology as a map
Your team reads every step in your own words, in the order you run it. You redraw the map in one place, and we call it Gist.
Deliver it.
Your standard
standardDone means the same on every engagement
Your routine task arrives with its evidence gathered, a first draft done and one question for you. We call the software that prepares it a Pulse, and nothing moves on until you sign it off.
Your judgement
judgementYou pass the work or send it back
Every engagement runs the same method, and your call at the gate sets where this one goes next. Send the work back in your own words, and the record says who decided and when.
Scale it.
Your capital
capitalFix it once. Every new engagement gets it.
What you say at the gate can stay with this case, or change your method for every case like it. Approve the change, and the next engagement starts on the new version while this one finishes on the old.
Measured
measuredClock every engagement
You see last time's days per step beside this time's, and what your team's year can carry. Every figure says where it came from, or that nobody has measured it yet.
An asset
assetKnow what your method can prove
You trace each line of evidence to the gate, engagement or change behind it, and see what isn't proven yet. Nothing here puts a price on it.
Licensed
licensedAnother firm runs your method, on your terms
Another firm takes your method to clients you can't reach, under a licence you control and at gates only you sign. You see how that firm runs it, and its client work stays its own.
Embedded
embeddedLeave, and your client keeps running your method
Their own people run it inside their firm, with a gate you kept for yourself. It's still your method, and each version you release reaches them.
Economics
economicsSee what faster is worth to you
Pick how much faster, and see how many more engagements your team could run in a year, on your own figures. Nothing here is a forecast.
What Machina OS takes on
It runs your method
Every engagement starts from your method, and routine work arrives prepared for your sign-off. Each lesson you approve becomes the next version.
It leaves the rest to people
Hiring senior people, arguments over who owns the method, a client's slow approvals and your client relationships stay with you. So does judgement on a case nobody has seen before.

What firms ask about Machina OS
Who decides, you or the software?
You do, at every gate you set. Pulses prepare the work and never sign it off.
What happens to our method and our data?
You own your methodware. Your firm works in its own space, closed to every other firm.
Does it replace the tools we write in?
No. Your team keeps writing in the tools it uses today, and Machina OS runs your method around that work.
Does it use AI?
Yes, through Pulses, which prepare work from your method. People make every call.
